Health Guarantee

Our Golden Retriever puppies are protected with a breeder-backed health guarantee.

Maggie Golden Pup Home Health Guarantee

Any Golden Retriever puppy purchased from Maggie Golden Pup Home through our website is covered by at least a one-month health guarantee from the breeder. Since every state may have different rules and regulations regarding puppy health guarantees, buyers are encouraged to review the rules that apply in their state.

Veterinary Check After Purchase

After purchasing your puppy, the puppy should undergo a professional veterinary check within 10 days after purchase. If a licensed veterinarian discovers that the puppy has a health problem or has contracted an illness within 5 to 10 days after purchase, the buyer may choose one of the following options:

  • Return the puppy and receive a refund of the purchase price.
  • Return the puppy and receive a replacement puppy of the same price.
  • Return the puppy and receive compensation for veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price of the puppy.

If the seller has provided a valid health certificate showing the date, time, veterinary signature, and stamp, the above options may not apply unless otherwise required by law.

Congenital or Hereditary Conditions

If within one month after purchase, a licensed veterinarian confirms that the puppy has a congenital or hereditary condition that negatively affects the puppy’s wellbeing, or if the puppy dies from such a condition, the buyer may be eligible for the remedies listed above.

Notification Requirement

The buyer must notify Maggie Golden Pup Home within 24 to 72 hours after receiving certified veterinary confirmation of the puppy’s illness. The notice should include the veterinarian’s name, address, phone number, and written findings. Failure to notify the breeder within the required time may result in loss of guarantee protection.

Extended Hereditary Health Guarantee

When offered, an extended hereditary health guarantee may cover illnesses or diseases proven through proper veterinary examination and lab testing to be hereditary in origin.

  • Normal veterinary expenses for routine puppy care are not covered.
  • Proper documentation must be provided before any compensation or replacement is considered.
  • The guarantee does not cover injuries caused by owner negligence or accidental harm.
  • The guarantee does not cover costs unrelated to the covered hereditary condition.

Vaccinations and Deworming

We guarantee that vaccinations and deworming have been provided as stated on the puppy’s vaccination schedule. New owners are encouraged to take the puppy and provided records to their veterinarian immediately after receiving the puppy.

Initial Veterinary Exam

Buyers are encouraged to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within two days of taking ownership. If the puppy is found to have a life-threatening genetic defect or major health issue during this exam, the breeder must be notified within 24 hours after the exam.

The puppy must be returned to the breeder with all related paperwork and a signed statement from the licensed veterinarian explaining the defect or health issue. A replacement puppy of equal value may be provided where applicable.

Conditions Not Covered

This guarantee does not cover uneven bites, undescended testicles, minor heart murmurs, injuries, fleas, ticks, ringworm, kennel cough, hernias, coccidia, giardia, worms, or parasites, as these are common conditions in dogs and puppies.

Maggie Golden Pup Home is not responsible for Parvo, Distemper, or Coronavirus after two days from the date of sale, as these are highly contagious illnesses that may be contracted after the puppy leaves the breeder’s care.

One-Year Genetic Guarantee

We provide a 12-month guarantee from the puppy’s birth date against life-threatening congenital defects. This does not include diseases such as parvovirus, distemper, heartworms, or nutrition-related illnesses.

If a licensed veterinarian confirms a covered congenital defect within the guarantee period, the puppy may be returned for replacement with another puppy of equal quality and price. Replacement is subject to availability. No cash refund will be provided under this one-year genetic guarantee.

Veterinary Costs

All veterinary bills are the responsibility of the buyer. Maggie Golden Pup Home is not responsible for veterinary costs incurred by the buyer unless specifically stated in writing.

Death Due to Congenital Defect

In the unlikely event that a puppy dies within the first year due to a congenital defect, a written statement from a licensed veterinarian confirming the condition and cause of death is required. If the cause of death is unknown, a necropsy may be required before any action is taken by the breeder.

Pet and Breeding Terms

Pet puppies may be sold with limited registration where applicable. Buyers may be required to spay or neuter pet puppies within the agreed timeframe.

Show or breeding prospect puppies may be sold with full/open registration where applicable. However, Maggie Golden Pup Home does not guarantee that any puppy will achieve show titles or become suitable for breeding when fully mature.

Ongoing Puppy Care

Your puppy has been kept on a vaccination and deworming schedule and records will be provided. Please take these records to your veterinarian and continue the recommended vaccination and deworming schedule, including yearly boosters when required.

Legal Terms

If a dispute arises between Maggie Golden Pup Home and the original buyer, any legal proceedings shall be handled according to the applicable agreement between the buyer and breeder. The buyer may be responsible for legal and court-related costs where applicable.
